Sustainable Development

Sustainable Development is the concept of progress that seeks to meet the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It relies on a delicate balance between economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection.

The UN has compiled 17 goals to try to improve our world. SDGs 7, 13, and 15 were chosen because they directly address the preservation of the planet and the quality of human life.

These three SDGs are deeply interconnected and form a critical tripod for the planet's survival. They are deeply interconnected: the way we generate energy (SDG 7) directly impacts the climate (SDG 13), which in turn determines the health of forests and ecosystems (SDG 15).

SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy

It is important because it ensures access to energy for all, but in a sustainable way, using renewable sources such as solar and wind. It was chosen because dependence on fossil fuels generates pollution and exacerbates climate change.

SDG 13 – Climate Action

Aims to combat climate change and its impacts, such as global warming, droughts, and floods. It was chosen because it is an urgent problem affecting all countries and threatening environmental balance and human survival.

SDG 15 – Life on Land:

Seeks to protect ecosystems, preserve biodiversity, and prevent species extinction. It was chosen because deforestation and environmental degradation endanger animals, plants, and the natural resources essential to life.

Conclusion

These three goals are interconnected, as the use of clean energy helps reduce global warming, which, in turn, contributes to the preservation of terrestrial ecosystems. Thus, they were chosen for their importance in building a sustainable future.
